Baptisms

The Christening Service

Christening services are joyful, happy occasions to share with family and friends. It is the time when we welcome and introduce children into the Church Family to begin their journey in Faith. During the Christening your child will be baptised at the font with water blessed by the vicar.

After their special day, there are other forms of worship for them to be involved in. For toddlers and babies there is Praise and Play and for the older ones Messy Church. Both of these involve the child’s participation in the various activities which they really enjoy.

Thanksgivings – a different journey

A Thanksgiving Service is different from a christening and can be used as a way to say thank you to God for your child.

It is possible to have this service instead of a Christening if you decide that now isn’t the right time to have your child baptised. Or, you could even have the Thanksgiving Service as well as a Christening.

You might also choose this service when your baby is newly born, or if you have adopted a child into your family and you simply want to celebrate this with special words said by the vicar in church.

Whatever the reason, we will be delighted to talk to you.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family.
