Messy Church – June 2024
On Father’s Day we found out what our Dads and families mean to us. We all got involved with the telling of the well known Prodigal Son parable; perhaps “the Loving Father or “Lost Son ” is more apt as we found out that God loves us whatever trouble and mess we get into and is always ready to welcome us home. We raced to feed the pig with our memory verse, then made piggy cakes for ourselves and personalised door hangers for our Dads while Pete’s group discussed the family dynamic and forgiveness.
Messy Church July 2024
Messy Church was a noisy affair in July! We had a dramatic retelling of the David and Goliath story – with Philip and Adam playing the lead roles while everyone else yelled and cheered for their side. David was the winner of course but Goliath was very impressive! The young shepherd used his skills in fending off wild animals and his faith in God to win the battle. We made a bag of 5 stones and catapults inscribed with the talents we could offer to God this week, and had fun shooting balls of paper at a big target. Pete’s group put the story in the context of the early history of the Hebrew people.
