Tea at the Tower
Every Sunday 2:30 to 4:30pm

In March 2017, church volunteers came together with the idea of establishing a café under the tower. Our aim was to provide the opportunity for people to appreciate the beauty and tranquillity of St Mary’s as an ancient building whilst at the same time enjoying some fabulous home made refreshments.

We were thrilled that ‘Tea at the Tower’ should receive accreditation as ‘A Place of Welcome’ from ‘Transforming Lives Together’ (a joint venture between the Diocese of Chester and The Church Urban Fund).

Progress does not stand still and for the energetic ‘Guided Circular Walks’ are available (1-2 hour walks across our beautiful Cheshire countryside). These walks have become very popular – and our walkers enjoy returning for tea and cakes afterwards!

The dates for our next walks, meet at 12:45pm, are:

  • 5th October
  • 2nd November
  • 7th December

Dogs on leads welcome.

We start outside Acton church at 1pm, and for those who wish to indulge in cake and a drink, we will be back in time to visit the Acton Church Tea in the Tower, community café (a donation towards church funds is appreciated).

If you wish to join us, please be there for 12-45pm for a prompt 1pm start. If arriving by car please park in the village car park.

A Warm Welcome Awaits You
