Messy Church – July And August 2025

Messy Church – July 2025

Martha was in a tizz as Jesus had come to visit – how would she ever get the meal ready in time? Her sister Mary was just sitting listening to Jesus instead of helping her in the kitchen!

We found out that while being busy and ready to serve was good, the most important thing is to spend time with Jesus, reading our Bibles and in prayer.

We made delicious wraps to take home for lunch and designed tea towels while the others thought about Jewish customs of hospitality and the different reactions of Martha and Mary to Jesus’ visit.

Messy Church – 21st August 2025

Church friends from the Cross Country Parishes joined us for an active session in August. We jiggled “dem bones” and prayed with our head, shoulders, knees and toes. We explored what St Paul meant when he likened the human body to the Church – the people not the building – made of different parts but all vital to work together.

How could we use our hands, feet, mouths and hearts to build up the body of Christ in our area?

We decorated ourselves on biscuits and filled jigsaw pieces with our gifts and interests for a banner. The discussion group explored why Paul was writing to the church in Corinth urging them to work as the body of Christ.

Join us next time, 21st September for Creation Praise at 10am.
