Telling the Easter Story
Hosannas rang loud and clear as Jesus arrived in Jerusalem with in our case Wilbur, a lovely miniature donkey brought along for the occasion by Daniel and Sarah. He wasn’t upset by the waving palms but preferred to stay outside! There was a chance to meet Wilbur properly then the action moved to garden of Gethsemane when Jesus’ enemies (a very noisy crowd!) waving swords and sticks, came to arrest him while his friends did their best to defend him. Jesus opened his arms on the cross to draw people together and so we did holding hands across the aisle as we prayed that we too might stretch out our hands to share his peace with everyone. We tore crosses for our prayers, designed Easter garden biscuits and joined together to make a large Easter garden to keep in Church. Peter’s group had a more detailed look at the story.
