Messy Church – 18th May 2025
We heard about Aurelia, a great-grandmother and farmer in Guatemala who struggles everyday to feed her large family because rivers near her home are being drained dry by heatwaves and industry.
Christian Aid has supported Aurelia teaching her how to grow climate resilient crops, make fertiliser and collect rainwater. She shares her skills and knowledge with her community and makes and sells chocolate to give her family a better life. She now “holds hope in her hands”.
We made very chocolatey cakes, and planted peas while the others discussed her story and Jesus’ words to love one another as he loves us. Over £200 was sent to Christian Aid.
