Forest Church
What is Forest Church ?
Forest Church is a contemporary movement, with roots in the long Christian tradition of engagement in nature, such as the Celtic and Franciscan approaches. Early Christians rarely found their place in buildings, but outdoors in the natural God-created world.
In today’s church, there is growing concern about how we can connect better with our natural environment.
A lot of people with a strong Christian faith don’t attend traditional church, they are deeply spiritual people – they worship, they pray, and they find fellowship outdoors.
Forest Church isn’t just normal church happening outside, instead it attempts to participate with creation. And it isn’t just a fellowship group doing an outside activity. We aim to learn, worship, meditate, pray and practice with the trees, at the spring, along the shore.
We are now running Forest Church at St Mary’s Acton.
Watch this space for our next meeting.
