Messy Church August 2021
We had a great time this morning at Messy Church with an Olympics theme. We discovered that everyone can be on Jesus’ team, you don’t need to be strong, fast or perfect – HOORAY!
We also found out that following Jesus is a race that lasts a lifetime and that, like a cross country race, it has its steep climbs and boggy bits as well as easy grassy downward slopes.
We puzzled out “let us run the race that is before us and never give up” (Hebrews 12 v 1), decorated edible medals, made a discus from paper plates and ran the discus final where Stan pipped Sam and Sam to the gold medal spot!
The less sporty amongst us concentrated on the verse from Hebrews and discovered how the small community of Much Wenlock helped establish the modern Olympic Games
